You can give access to your company’s Gusto administration to an employee within your company or someone outside your company. So, anyone you hire for HR, accounting or bookkeeping can get the information they need without going through you. As the admin, you can see outstanding expense reimbursement requests on the dashboard. When clicking into the expenses module, you can approve or deny requests individually or in bulk to save time.

RUN Powered by ADP Plans start at $79 per month (base) and $4 per person per month. Gusto Payroll
Plans start at $40 per month (base) and $6 per person per month. Gusto syncs payroll, taxes and wages data directly to QuickBooks to make accounting even easier. We tested Gusto’s Simple plan features using the Google Chrome browser on a Windows laptop and the Gusto Wallet app on an Android mobile device.

Is Gusto a reputable company?

Gusto has at least two standout features from its competitors, namely, the ability to pay a variety of employee types as well as tools to support their financial goals. Gusto is a full-service payroll and HR platform designed gusto benefits login to grow with U.S.-based startups and small businesses. Square Payroll
Plans start at $35 per month (base) and $5 per person per month. OnPay Payroll Plans start at $40 per month (base) and $6 per person per month.

Gusto’s Plus and Premium plans come with time tracking tools for payroll or project tracking, so employees and contractors can track their hours using the Gusto Wallet app. Their hours then sync up with payroll, making it easy to run payroll tied to an hourly rate. Though these features are available to Gusto Plus or Premium customers only, customers opting for Simple can integrate with several external time tracking tools such as Deputy, Homebase and QuickBooks Time.

Gusto vs. ADP RUN

The ability to sync data with Gusto means less time spent on manual entry. On those plans, both hourly and salaried nonexempt employees can track their hours. Gusto plans offer integrated payroll, benefits and HR, with higher tiers offering additional features. Add-on benefits can be used to further customize your plan, and you have the flexibility to upgrade or downgrade at any time. You simply choose a schedule—Gusto automatically suggests one for you—and confirm state tax details based on where employees are located.

Gusto customers can contact customer support via chat, email or phone. Gusto’s phone support is only available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. MT. Customers on the Premium plan get access to priority support, meaning they can skip the queue when they call, but there is no 24/7 phone support available.

Top-notch employee portal access

Users can download the Gusto mobile app, or sign in from the web, to view payday data, edit tax details, see available PTO and even clock in and out right on their phone. In addition, the platform shares income insights and personal tax documents such as W-2s. While Gusto offers next-day direct deposit of your employee’s pay at the Plus and Premium level, QuickBooks Payroll provides same-day direct deposit with its higher tiers. Pacific time on payday, and your employees receive their money that same day. Plus, even though Gusto integrates with QuickBooks, if you already use Intuit accounting and tax software, adding QuickBooks Payroll may be a logical next step.

Upon approval, the payment automatically gets disbursed to the employee in their next paycheck. Gusto helps you stay compliant with local labor laws with its labor law poster store. You can print labor law posters to post for on-site employees or send e-notices to remote employees.

Gusto (company)

In addition, customization of reporting, templates and dashboard is limited. Gusto also has built-in ACA, COBRA, HIPAA and ERISA compliance for benefits administration. We found time off policies easy to set up, and we like that Gusto suggests time off policies to include. If you pay anyone by check, you have to manually print checks Gusto generates. It doesn’t have an option to automatically print and mail physical paychecks.

When adding employees to the benefit, though, we had to enter the deduction amounts each time, making it potentially time-consuming.

The best payroll software for your company depends on your business size and needs.

It’s been backed by reputable investors valued at $9.5 billion as of August 2021.

Gusto uses industry-standard encryption to keep data secure, plus it monitors your account and will alert you when it suspects any fraudulent activity has taken place.

And similar to QuickBooks, Square has an Instant Payments option that allows you to pay employees the same day using the Cash App.

Gusto plans offer integrated payroll, benefits and HR, with higher tiers offering additional features.

From the employee side, it’s very easy to initiate an expense reimbursement request. Employees can upload a receipt and add a memo, so it’s clear what the payment is for. Gusto comes with a few more perks that make the platform versatile and attractive to companies—and employees—across industries. No matter which plan you choose, you can always switch to a different Gusto plan or cancel any time if your business changes.

Additional Features Worth Noting

In addition to smooth integration, your Gusto account could get you discounts on some popular apps. For example, at the time of this writing, it’s offering three months free to restaurant scheduling software 7shifts, 25% off Breezy HR plans and many more. We tried adding a gym wellness benefit, and it was simple to set up in Gusto. We just had to give the benefit a name, enter how much the employee should contribute from each paycheck and how much you as the employer contribute to the benefit for each pay period. When adding employees to the benefit, though, we had to enter the deduction amounts each time, making it potentially time-consuming. Gusto software incorporates plenty of personalization components as well, helping to acclimate new hires and integrate them into the team.

Time off management features might work better in the Plus or Premium plans.

Gusto’s Plus and Premium plans come with time tracking tools for payroll or project tracking, so employees and contractors can track their hours using the Gusto Wallet app.

The service keeps you updated and automatically alerts employees of any changes to the law to keep you compliant.

Upon approval, the payment automatically gets disbursed to the employee in their next paycheck.

Content Is Gusto a reputable company?
